We welcome World Earth Day once again on Monday, April 22.

Mother Earth who has given so much is recognised on this day; however, do we actually give her the recognition that she deserves?

Every little thing that we do counts, from shutting off the electricity when not in use & not brushing your teeth with the water running continuously

In line with that, we @ hitz.fm recently conducted Freeze For Earth Day @ Sunway Pyramid. For four minutes, we got a whole bunch of people to freeze & stop whatever they were doing.

YOU CAN...

@ Clean or replace air filters on your air conditioning unit at least once a month @

@ Unplug seldom used appliances (electricity is used even thoughif it’s set on stand-by) @

@ Shut off all electrical itema when leaving a room or area @

@ Purchase appliances with the Energy Star Label @

@ Use compact fluorescent light bulbs to save money & energy @

@ Plant trees to shade your homes @

@ Use cold water instead of warm or hot whenever possible @

@ Put leaves & grass in a compost heap instead of burning them or throwing them in the garbage. @

@ Reuse items like envelopes, folders & paper clips @

@ Send an e-mail instead of snail mail @

@ Use recycled paper & use discarded paper for scrap paper @

@ Use ceramic mugs instead of Styrofoam @

@ Walk, ride your bike or carpool to get to your destination @

@ Check & fix any water leaks @

@ Wash & dry only full loads of laundry @

@ Shop with a canvas bag instead of a plastic or paper bag @

@ Use cloth napkins instead of paper ones @

@ Copy & print on both sides of paper @
